Belize has done it again in the world of travel and tourism awards. The winners of the 2023 Travvy Awards were announced this month, with Belize taking home the silver award in four categories for Central and South America as well as one bronze Award. Produced by TravelPulse and AGENTatHOME, the awards, now in their ninth year, recognize the top suppliers in the travel industry – from cruise and airlines to destinations and tour operators.

“The Travvy Awards are a testament to Belize’s enduring appeal and the hard work of our tourism industry,” said Belize’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Anthony Mahler. Here are the Travvy Awards categories that Belize has received recognition in.
Best Destination in Central and South America (Silver)

With its Caribbean coastline and verdant rainforests, Belize offers the best of both worlds for Central and South American travel. The best part? Travelers can go from the seaside to the heart of the jungle in just one day. This year, the country came out on top for the Travvy Awards. Belize was named one of the best destinations in the region. Awarded silver, Belize stands out alongside other heavy hitters like Costa Rica (gold) and Brazil (bronze).
Best Cruise Destination in Central and South America (Bronze)
Overnight visitors aren’t the only ones that the country continues to woo. This year, Belize won bronze in the category of Best Cruise Destination for the region. Cruise tourism in the country has flourished for quite some time now and continues to grow with each year.
“This recognition highlights the country’s appeal to cruise travelers, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and cultural experiences along its stunning coastline,” said the Belize Tourism Board.

Just as it did for the 2022 Travvy Awards, Belize has won silver for Best Wedding Destination in Central and South America. Best Tourism Board in Central and South America (Silver)
If the recent “Grab Life in Belize” marketing campaign (launched July 2021) were to reveal just one thing about the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), it would be that the organization is wholeheartedly dedicated to promoting the country’s travel offerings to the world. From annual B.O.O.M forums to Digital Marketing Summits, and Elevate Training Workshops, the BTB has been working hard towards the continued growth of the industry. That work has earned them the silver award for Best Tourism Board in the region alongside Costa Rica (Gold) and Panama (Bronze).
