San Pedro’s Lobster Fest Takes Place July 1 – 13

A two-week affair, San Pedro Town’s Lobster Fest puts a spin on the traditional festival activities with an interactive lobster crawl. With the festival set to take place on the island of Ambergris Caye from July 1st to the 13th, attendees can expect everything from prizes and lobster dish competitions to a lively block party to finish things off. The lobster crawl in particular will allow eager island goers to visit their favorite restaurants – like Elvi’s Kitchen and Blue Water Grill – and get their lobster fest passports stamped.
Where to stay: Looking for somewhere close to all the action? Head to either of the Sunbreeze sister properties – Sunbreeze Suites or Sunbreeze Hotel – for a beachside stay right in town.

In addition to San Pedro, the biggest lobster fest events take place on the island of Caye Caulker and on the Placencia Peninsula. Expect both to take place between early and mid-July, and expect loads of lobster-themed fun, too. From fresh lobster grilled and served up in a myriad of ways to the annual Miss Lobster Fest pageant, Caye Caulker transforms each year from your typical “go-slow” island to a buzzing party haven.

Meanwhile, in Placencia Village, expect tons of family-friendly beachside fun. Placencia Lobster Fest 2024 will take place from July 5th to 7th. It’s the biggest lobster fest on the mainland, and this year will be its 24th iteration.
Update: The Placencia Lobster Fest has been postponed from its original date to the weekend of 19th – 21st July, 2024.
