If you’re doing dry January, then these alcohol-free drink recommendations will be at the top of your list whilst in Belize. With many people cutting down on drinking or stopping completely for dry January, bars and restaurants have started offering a range of alcohol-free alternatives to ensure your vacation is just as enjoyable. Also, throughout Belize, you’ll be able to get some of the best no-alcohol drinks in any shop, roadside eatery or local restaurant.
Here are our top no-alcohol drink recommendations for those bravely taking on Dry January:
What could be more refreshing than enjoying some coconut water on a sunny day? Coconut water forms naturally in the fruit and contains 94% water and very little fat. It’s been proven that coconut water is a good source of fiber and vitamin C that is good for your skin, helps prevent kidney stones, helps to fight diabetes, can support the heart, and many more health benefits. You’ll find this local favourite throughout the country and infused in many of the Belizean drinks and dishes.
The Kiwi Cooler at Palapa Bar & Grill
The Palapa Bar and Grill is one of those places you’ll want to visit again and again. Located at the tip of the Wet Willies Pier, the bar overlooks the beautiful reef. Spend your day floating in inner tubes whilst you get cold drinks served by the bucket. And if you bring your fresh catch with you, they’ll cook it for you.
The bar also offers a selection of non-alcoholic drinks! Our recommendation – the Kiwi Fresh Cooler. Made up of kiwi fruit, lime and pineapple, it is simply fresh and delicious.
Mocktails at Tipsy Tuna Sports Bar
If you’re staying in Placencia village, this is a lively beachfront bar to spend an afternoon or night at. There is live music, karaoke, billiards and multiple TVs airing your favorite sports. Not to mention, most of their menu can be adapted to forgo the booze. Sip on a virgin coconut basil mojito or virgin melon mango punch while watching the world go by from your colourful beach chair. After all, everything tastes better with your toes in the sand.

This is one for the chocolate lovers. Belize Chocolate Company is an award winning craft bean to bar chocolate making company based on Ambergris Caye. Whilst their signature product is a 70% dark chocolate, called Kakaw, they also offer a range of chocolatey drinks. These include chocolate coffee, cacao infused tea and a hot chocolate drink. However, our favourite has to be the chocolate milkshakes, available in-store! Rich and creamy, these are the ultimate indulgent treat! Also they make bars, truffles, desserts and an array of other chocolatey gifts. And for those too far to try the shop. They also offer online shopping on certain products.
