Fishing in Belize is a popular sport. Whether fly fishing or just drop fishing, it makes for a fun day out. Looking for a little more excitement? Head out to sea and enjoy a tackle challenge as you catch the attention of some mackerel and barracuda. If your Dad is an avid angler, he may want to try his luck at fly fishing. Who knows, waking up at the crack of dawn could be worth the possibility of catching that Grand Slam that he’s always dreamed about.

For a dad who loves fishing competitively – join him in a fishing tournament. The Deep Sea Classic Fishing Tournament at Grand Caribe kicks off on June 29th.

The Great Blue Hole is part of the UNESCO-recognized Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System (BBRRS). It’s one of the top marine attractions in Belize, and seeing this magnificent natural wonder from above is unparalleled.

Located approximately 55 miles off the coast of Belize City, the journey to the Blue Hole includes breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and aerials of pristine atolls and islands. As you fly over Belize’s crystal clear water, Dad is sure to be captivated by the different hues of blue, and the gorgeous natural beauty of the Barrier Reef. Enjoy this unique experience either by helicopter or plane.

Scuba Dive or Snorkel

For a Dad who has an appreciation for the sea, a snorkeling or dive trip can be a great start. The Blue Hole and the clear turquoise waters of the Belize Barrier Reef – the second largest barrier reef in the world – make Belize a divers/snorkelers paradise. Vibrant marine life, warm waters, and good visibility can be fully appreciated at multiple snorkel and dive locations in the North and South of Belize. Half Moon Caye Wall at Lighthouse Reef Atoll, the Blue Hole, Glover’s Reef Atoll, and the Elbow at Turneffe Atoll are just a few top dive and snorkel locations in the country.

Got an itch for adventure? Just a short drive away from Belize City, one can embark on various adventures including zip-lining above lush jungles or navigating through muddy terrain on an ATV.

Looking for something less exhilarating? Try cave tubing or visit one of Belize’s many Maya temples. There are many tour operators countrywide offering customized tour experiences.

Good Ol’ Barbecue

A good ol’ barbecue is always enjoyed by Belizeans on the weekends, in particular on Father’s Day. In the company of family and friends, fire up the grill with a selection of Dads’ favorites. Not in the mood to cook? Head out for a Father’s Day luncheon at the many restaurants around the country offering specials. Whether eating out or staying in, delicious food, great company, and quality time spent with family and friends is always a winner.

Options are endless when it comes to spoiling Dad! CC+L wishes all Dads and Dad-figures a Happy Father’s Day!
