Placencia is not known as a late-night party scene. Locals and visitors alike are usually tucked in fairly early each evening after full days of fun in the sun. Most nights, the peninsula is pretty quiet by 11pm. But you’ll want to join everyone in the effort to stay awake until midnight and beyond for some of Placencia’s New Year’s Eve soirees this year. While typically very casual, we love a special occasion that calls for us to dress up, and NYE is certainly one of those times! Elegant dinners and glamorous galas preface champagne toasts and firework displays. Put on your party shoes and step out for a night on the town! Here are a few of the spectacular shindigs the peninsula will put on to welcome 2023.
Itz’ a New Year!

Itz’ana Resort and Residences hosts fetes throughout the day and night. Join them around the pool on December 31st, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for their Sip+Tan & Sound party. The DJ and open bar will get your NYE celebrations started early. Rest up before dinner and dancing the night away. Mix and mingle among new friends at the Great House. Dinner will be a fluid affair with sumptuous serving stations in place of a stuffy sit-down-meal, so move around and socialize how you please. Share a midnight toast under the stars and be dazzled by fireworks display over the Caribbean Sea. Should the first of January find you moving at a slower pace, crawl on over to the New Year Recovery Bar to indulge in tacos, ceviche, Micheladas, and Bloody Mary’s.
Get Glittery at Inky’s
It’s time to shine! Get your sparkle on at Inky’s Silver & Black Glitter Party. End 2022 on a high note with a rooftop bash at the 360 Martini Bar. An open-air affair, come shine as brightly as the night sky’s stars and welcome a new year with fireworks and champagne.

Ring in the New Year with an elegant and romantic dinner at Laguna Ristorante. Linger over hand-crafted cocktails and make a few resolutions with your loved one. The night’s pinnacle will be fireworks reflected off the placid Placencia Lagoon with the iconic Cockscomb Mountain Range as a dramatic backdrop.

Neighboring beach bars, Barefoot and Tipsy Tuna, both throw NYE affairs to remember (or perhaps to forget!). You can pop back and forth between the competing parties; these are sure to have the most energetic music and a vigorous dancing scene.
