Caribbean destinations are synonymous with beautiful white sand beaches, and while Belize has its fair share of beautiful beaches, before coming to Belize you should know that not every destination has a walk-in beach.  That’s because our entire coastline is lined by the beautiful Belize Barrier Reef and the ecosystem doesn’t prevent this in all areas. You can be 100% sure to expect to see turquoise blue waters at any coastal destination you visit, but if you’re looking for a sandy beach that you can walk right into the water, here’s where you should visit:

1. Secret Beach, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

An area full of many options when it comes to restaurants, bars, and water sports.  It is vibrant and full of life all year around. Located on approximately 7 miles North West of San Pedro Town, it is an absolute must-visit on your trip to Ambergris Caye. You’ll find crystal clear 4-5ft shallow waters expanding at least a mile at Secret Beach.

2. The Mahogany Bay Beach Club

Reserved exclusively for guests at Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club, this is one of San Pedro’s most beautiful white sand beaches on the West side of the island.  If you’re staying at Mahogany Bay, you’ll enjoy all the amenities of the beach club including a full-service restaurant and bar, over the water daybed, over the water hammocks, free paddleboards, and kayaks and complimentary boat transfers to and from the resort to the beach club.

3. Moho Caye, Offshore Placencia

Located just 12 miles East of Placencia Village, Moho Caye is the epitome of what a Caribbean island should be – white sand, palm trees, and coconut trees.  Snorkeling and Fly Fishing are also very popular around the island. Available for everyone to enjoy, it’s a day-trippers haven – visit: www.mohocayebelize.com for visitor details. It’s a perfect day trip if you are staying in Placencia, ask your hotel concierge about making a trip.

4. The Silk Cayes

Also located East of Placencia Village, these islands are relatively small, but ideal for those that seek a little personal space and comfort away from everything. Take your icebox and towel and enjoy this quiet and paradisiac island for the day. It not only provides a white sand beach, but there is also world-class snorkeling right off and around the white sand island. Be sure to pack a hat as this island has little to no-shaded areas, it is an untouched as you can ask for.

5. Koko King Beach Club
