Things to Do With Your Partner in Belize

by Reyann Garcia

Sometimes we may find ourselves so absorbed by the hustle and bustle of everyday life that we can hardly find time for ourselves, much less to spend quality time with our significant other. An important part of every relationship is spending time together, so if work and your busy life are getting in the way then you’ll need to find a way to reconnect with your partner and rekindle the spark that you have. What better way to do so than taking a romantic trip to Belize? Here is a list of fun and romantic activities for you to consider.

Horseback Riding

You can take a peaceful, romantic ride through Belize’s countryside on acres of private farmland, or if you want something more adventurous, then riding through the Belizean Jungle and witnessing the beautiful wildlife would be a better idea. These tours can be done with Ka’ana Resort in Cayo or at Banana Bank in Cayo as well.

Chocolate Making and Tasting

must do's

Known as the food of love, and an aphrodisiac – chocolate can be found and is made right here in Belize. There are a few places that take you through the process of making chocolate (Copal Tree Lodge, Belize Chocolate Company) and offers an amazing experience for you to bond with your partner and learn, but mostly, to try everything chocolate!

Snorkeling with Your Partner in Belize’s Waters

An extremely unique experience you won’t soon forget, so why not share it with the person you love? Snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef and enter a completely different world of colorful corals and reef fishes; a sea turtle or nurse shark might even pop out to surprise you. If you’re staying at Sunbreeze suites or any other hotel in San Pedro, then you can book this tour through your hotel.

Kayaking at Sunrise (Or Sunset)

Spend some alone time on the warm, cerulean waters of the Caribbean Sea. Take your kayaks out early and watch the mesmerizing sunrise at Caye Caulker. Rent your kayaks from local businesses such as Barefoot Fisherman Expeditions or Tsunami Adventures.

Candlelit Dinners

No matter where you’re staying, you can always request a romantic candlelight dinner just for you and your partner on the beach or in the jungle and enjoy an amazing view. Some places you can enjoy your candlelight dinner are at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge where you can have your dinner out in the open near the Belize jungle or at Turtle Inn, or Ray Caye in Placencia where you can enjoy the beach and sounds of the soft waves.

Cooking Classes

I’d like to think that the key to anyone’s heart is through food. Being in this country there’s so much for you to savor, so learning how to make a Belizean meal would be a great way to bond and work together. At Marie Sharp’s Tourist Center and Cooking Class, you can learn how to cook delicious Belizean cuisine. Itz’ana Resort in Placencia also offers classes in the form of a Garifuna Cooking Experience that’s a definite must-do.
