What could be better than a delectable Thanksgiving dinner? One with some of Belize’s most beautiful locales as the backdrop, of course. For Thanksgiving, start your night off with bollitos de calabaza as an appetizer. These little balls of pumpkin (and corn masa) are wrapped in a plantain leaf and steamed and are sure to whet the appetite for what’s to come. Next, choose between slow-smoked, herb-infused turkey and duck, both served with cranberry, stuffings, and a sweet potato sauce. Then, end the night off with dessert: a mascarpone pumpkin cheesecake topped with caramelized nuts.

The Lodge at Jaguar Reef’s Paddle House restaurant is known for inventive Belizean cuisine and gorgeous seaside views. At this Belize Collection restaurant, expect creative yet delicious options like habanero sausage and squash soup, longaniza pasta (a personal favorite), and craboo beef tenderloin.

This Thanksgiving, enjoy the Caribbean scenery with a three-course dinner that starts off with a savory butternut squash and bacon soup.
