June marks the start of the summer months, and for Belize, that means loads of fun in the sun and festivals galore. While the rainy season in the Caribbean does start this month, showers usually happen overnight. That means that, in addition to shoulder season prices on accommodations and tours, you can still enjoy having a great time without storm clouds putting a damper on your plans. Looking for something to do? Here’s what’s happening in Belize in June.
June 1st to 30th – The Last of Whale Shark Season
June rounds out the last of the whale shark months in Belize. Starting in March, Whale Shark Season in Belize means increased chances of spotting these gentle giants in and near the Gladden Spit Marine Reserve, found off the coast of Placencia. Whale sharks are most often spotted two days before the full moon(which was June 3rd) and up to ten days after.
June 10th & 11th – Hopkins Mango Fest
It’s a two-day celebration of Belize’s favorite summer fruit, and it’s taking place in the lovely village of Hopkins. Head south for a world of mango-related fun alongside games, competitions, drinks, music, and artisan vendors.

June 10th – BIMFF 2.0 Pre-Festival Jam (Belize City Edition)
The Belize International Music and Food Festival is set to take place this July, but the Belize Tourism Board is already hard at work building up anticipation for the star-studded event. The Board has been holding pre-festival jams all across the country and this month it’s coming to Belize City. Taking place at the DIGI Park from 7 pm until midnight, the event will feature, food, live music, and a competition between artists for the chance to perform at the upcoming festival.
Attendees will also have the chance to purchase early-bird tickets for the second annual BIMFF for $50 (General Admission) or $150 (VIP Admission) per day.

June 10th – Global Wellness Day
Celebrate Global Wellness Day and commune with nature in Belize. To commemorate this global observance, Gaia Riverlodge will be hosting a yoga wellness retreat led by renowned instructor Brice Dial. Retreat to the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve for a truly rejuvenating experience. The entire retreat is scheduled for June 9th to 12th.

June 12th – Stargazing at Itz’ana
