Here’s Where You Can Celebrate National Pizza Day in Belize

by Khaila Gentle

There are a number of good reasons why pizza is the favorite food of countless persons across the globe. For one, it’s delectable when fresh out the oven but still just as delicious as leftovers the next day. It’s also a perfect communal food (but we won’t judge you for ordering an entire one for yourself).

National Pizza Day is February 9th. For any fellow pizza lovers looking for a way to celebrate, here’s why you should check out The Belize Collection’s Don Tonito’s Pizza.

Don Tonito’s Pizzeria

Pizza lovers rejoice: Don Tonito’s is serving up delicious wood fire pies that are always carefully crafted. First established four years ago at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge, the beloved pizzeria now has three locations in Belize.

Enjoy their Neapolitan-style pizzas in the rainforest at the Sleeping Giant Lodge, on the beachside at Umaya Resort in Placencia, or near the pool at the most recently opened location at Almond Beach Resort in Hopkins Village.

A Diverse List of Pizzas to Choose From

Each pizza at Don Tonito’s is made using high quality and locally sourced ingredients. That includes arugula from the Sleeping Giant Lodge’s 600-acre garden and fresh cheese from the Mennonite community nearby.

Baked in custom-made traditional fogons (fire hearths) and perfectly-charred, they boast the right combination of crunch and chew. Choose from an array of pizza options ranging from traditional to controversial.  Plus, enjoy Twice the Slice when you eat at Don Tonito’s on Wednesdays. That’s when all locations offer a two for one special.
