The Boutique Belize Resorts Named Among TripAdvisor’s Best in Central America

As its travel numbers continue to grow, Belize also continues to win the hearts of travelers from all corners of the globe. The country’s stellar performance in the 2024 TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Awards has further solidified that notion with an extensive list of resorts and even an island being ranked the “Best of the Best”. In the category of Best Small Hotels in Central America, a total of nine Belize resorts have made the list of 25 boutique properties. Even more impressive, Belize managed to snag to number one spot with Ambergris Caye’s Pelican Reef Villas prevailing as the Best of the Best Small Hotel in the region. “Belize remains a top choice for travelers seeking unforgettable experiences,” writes the Belize Tourism Board in a recent press release congratulating Belize’s resorts for their win. The Traveler’s Choice Award, said the Board, is a testament to the highest level of excellence in travel, celebrating establishments that consistently receive exceptional reviews. In the category of Small Hotels in Central America, here are the Belize properties that won “Best of the Best”:

1st – Pelican Reef Villas Resort (Ambergris Caye)

4^th – Sirenian Bay Resort & Villas (Placencia)

7^th – The Phoenix Resort (Ambergris Caye)

11^th – Turneffe Island Resort (Turneffe Atoll)

Five resorts snagged an award for Best of the Best Hotels in Central America. They included Hamanasi in Hopkins, Naia Resort & Spa in Placencia, Ambergris Caye’s Alaia Belize and Coco Beach Resort, and the Belize Collection’s Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge. Notably, while Costa Rica dominated the top 5, Belize’s Hamanasi Resort has managed to hold its own. The Southern Belize property ranks at #3 for the Best of the Best hotels in the region.
