Air Canada continues its Caribbean relaunch with a restart of service to Belize, set to return on December 4, 2022, from Toronto, Canada with once-weekly non-stop flights. Then in March 2023, direct service bumps up to twice weekly via an Airbus A220-300. The initial Sunday service departs Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) at 9:30 am, arriving at Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) at 1:15 pm. The return flight then departs Belize City at 2:15 pm for a 7:35 pm arrival in Toronto. Before the pandemic in 2019, Belize reported 35,527 annual inbound visitors from Canada, accounting for Belize’s fourth-largest market.

As of March 16, 2022, Air Canada reduced its schedule by more than 90 percent as a result of COVID-19, including the suspension of service to Belize. Following the initial announcement of U.S.-Canada travel restrictions on March 21, Air Canada then maintained limited service to 11 U.S. destinations from its three Canadian hubs, primarily to facilitate the repatriation of Canadians.
