Wanna get away? Start planning for the fall says Southwest Airlines: a new sale (and a new fare for flexibility for all) slashes flights to Mexico and the Caribbean until July 21. Valid for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Aug. 16 through Nov. 16 and then again from Nov. 29 through Dec. 14., Belize just got even more accessible. Those eyeing a Caribbean vacation this fall can get to Belize — which just dropped all COVID-related entry requirements — for as low as $215 RT on the airline’s Wanna Get Away fare category. During the sale, Southwest’s Wanna Get Away fares can be found to many destinations as low as $59 each way, while the new and flexible Wanna Get Away Plus fares start at $89 each way.
Belize drops its COVID entry requirements
As of July 15, 2022, Belize becomes the latest destination to drop all COVID-related entry requirements, which include testing, vaccinations, and health insurance. However, the Belize Tourism Board advises that international visitors are still required to stay at a Gold Standard-approved accommodation; the recognition program is for hotels in the country that have undergone enhanced health and safety measures. Entry requirements’ relaxation came into immediate effect at all of Belize’s points of entry, including its land and maritime borders.
