With its perfectly formed cayes and lush jungles, Belize is an irresistible destination for the eager traveler. But, just in case you needed another reason to start planning your visit, here’s some good news: Southwest Airlines just announced new flight service to Belize (BZE) out of the Baltimore–Washington International Airport (BWI). The new nonstop service is set to start on March 9th, 2024.

Southwest to Connect Belize with the Northeastern U.S.

In a press release, Southwest announced that the new nonstop flight to Belize would depart once a week on Saturdays.  “To address seasonal travel patterns and demand, the airline brings more nonstop options for Southwest® Customers, including those traveling on peak days when new time-saving nonstop service complements a schedule of daily connecting or same-plane service,” the airline said.

The new non-stop flight schedule is as follows:

  • Departs BWI at 8:30 am
  • Arrives BZE at 11:00 am
  • Departs BZE at 12:00 pm
  • Arrives BWI at 5:50 pm

Increased Service from Houston and Denver

In addition to new nonstop service from Baltimore, Southwest will also be increasing its service to Belize out of  Houston and Denver on March 9th. The airline will introduce an extra Saturday service from Houston’s Hobby Airport for a total of eight weekly flights to Belize. Flights from Denver to Belize will increase from once to twice weekly, on Saturdays and Sundays.

The airline’s extended flight service will come just in time for spring break. The best part? Flights are already available for booking on Southwest’s website.
