Whether your favorite taco is Al Pastor, Carnitas, Chorizo, Street Tacos, or Asada, everyone can agree on how versatile they can be. Simply put: tacos make people happy. Tacos are traditionally served as warm corn/maize tortillas stuffed with many different types of juicy, marinated meat and spices.
As a country that has always been a melting pot of different cultures, Belize is as diverse as it gets, and it only gives the country an endless catalog of possibilities; not only in terms of culture but also food.
Though the district is called “Shuga City,” ask anyone where you can get really great tacos in Belize, and they will definitely tell you Orange Walk! No other district in the country can compare.
Orange Walk tacos can be enjoyed every day of the week, but crowds gather especially on the weekends to enjoy them. These street tacos are a melt-in-your-mouth tender, juicy perfection boasting a symphony of flavors you will have to taste to believe. They’re exploding with richness, bursting the flavors of Belize.
Orange Walk Annual Tacos Fest
Orange Walk has become incredibly famous for its “street tacos”; the district annually holds its very own Tacos Festival. Each year, more and more people travel to Northern Belize to get their tummies filled with delicious tacos. This food festival showcases a wide variety of tacos styles and tastes. Enjoy fresh corn tor flour tortillas loaded with tasty chicken or pork, topped off with your choice of veggies (usually only cabbage!) and of course local pepper sauce to give your taste buds an extra burst of flavor.
Driving through Orange Walk, you’re likely to pass food vendors at most street corners selling tacos. These include chicken tacos, pibil tacos, pork tacos, fried tacos… okay, basically any kind of tacos! Wash down your tacos will a delicious coca-cola or horchata.
This year’s Orange Walk Annual Tacos Fest will be held on Sunday, November 24th, 2019 at the Central Park.
Orange Walk will become your favorite tacos stop in Belize.
If you’re in Belize at this time, definitely make your way to Orange Walk. You will be blown away at how flavorsome these tacos are. Don’t miss it!
