2020 has started and there are plenty of fun activities taking place on the vibrant island of Ambergris Caye! Here are some events you should definitely mark on your agenda to attend during your vacation
Save the Date: January 18th Wahoo Challenge 2020
To kick start 2020, anglers are invited to join the 2020 Wahoo Challenge. The wahoo challenge a tournament is a tournament that has been taking place for many years now on Ambergris Caye. Ambergris Caye is a prime location for deep-sea fishing, making it a popular destination for fishing tournaments. Despite the possibility of wahoo being caught all year round, the challenge is set specifically in early January, in the cooler months in Belize, when the chances of catching a Wahoo are highest. It’s never a dull moment catching these fish as they are known for their high–speed chase, not to mention them being a great meal!
The tournament starts with a briefing on Friday followed by the main event on Saturday, January 18th. On Saturday there will be a Bimini start at 6:00 AM with lines out until 4:00 PM While on Sunday, January 19th fishing is from 6:00 AM-12 PM. Join the action at Dive Bar as anglers come in to weigh their catch. Entertainment will be provided by Panerrifix Steelband, Erin Castellano, Amaurys, Mangrove Riddims, and the Gasoline Lollipops.
February – El Gran Carnaval de San Pedro
Ambergris Caye, already a vibrant and happening caye, comes alive for El Gran Carnaval de San Pedro.
