Traditionally one of the biggest events in the September Celebrations calendar, Sir Barry’s Belikin Bash returns back in-person in 2022, but in August! After two years of virtual celebrations, the giant two-day concert and party features all Belizean artists and naturally, plenty of Belikin beer. Formerly known as Belikin Fest, the free event is hosted annually by Bowen & Bowen in celebration of its parent Belize Brewing Company’s founder, Sir Barry M. Bowen, KCMG. Bottling magnate and entrepreneur, Sir Barry played a major role in the country’s industrial history and development. This year, celebrate with one of his legacies, Belikin Beer, on August 26 from 6 pm to midnight, then again on August 27 from 12 pm until midnight at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, Belize City.
How The Bash Went Virtual
Celebrated virtually for two years, the Belikin Digital Bash premiered in 2020 and 2021 on all streaming channels in Belize, including YouTube, for three fun-filled nights packed with performances from a large pool of Belizean artists, musicians, and live bands.
In 2021, viewers from home enjoyed an amazing mash-up by J. Cas, Denise Castillo & Kylon Eiley backed up by Richard Pitts & Centa Stayge Band plus music by the 2021 Belikin DJ Champ DJ Moombah. Closing the night off is a spectacular performance by Marlyn Vansen. Belikin Beer, the beer of Belize, has been brewed, bottled, and distributed in Belize since 1971, and since then has become one of the most popular beers in Belize.
