A Sneak Peek at ‘Caribbean Summer’: The Hallmark Rom-Com Movie Filmed in Belize

Hallmark movie or not, Belize is ready for its close-up. Caribbean Summer, the rom-com movie filmed earlier this year in Placencia, Belize is set to premiere on Saturday, June 11 at 8/7c only on the Hallmark channel. After an embarrassing event during a live broadcast, Jade is forced to take a vacation, but her trip gets off to a rocky start due to a snafu involving the house she rented. Serendipitously, the news producer befriends the real owner, Ford, and discovers fun and romance. The lighthearted film stars Heather Hemmens and Ser’Darius Blain alongside other cast members, including Aisha Toussaint, Pearl Jarrett, and Boum Tihngang. Plus, lots of Belizean extras from the Peninsula!

‘Caribbean Summer’

Shot entirely on location in Belize, Caribbean Summer follows Jade, played by Heather Hemmens, to Placencia, her escapism personified after embarrassing herself on live TV. She’s welcomed by the warmth of Belizeans, after her correcting a hiccup with her rental, and meets Ford, played by Ser’Darius Blain. The movie takes a turn when her heart and job come into direct conflict with a career-defining scoop.
