This month, Caribbean Princess announced its route for the 2022 Caribbean season, which includes Belize. Interestingly, the Medallion Class ship will return to Port Everglades in Greater Fort Lauderdale from April through July 2022 to operate seven- and 14-day cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
Stop into Belize on The Western Caribbean Sailing Route
The Western Caribbean sailing route includes a seven-day itinerary visiting Grand Cayman, Roatan, Belize City and Cozumel. Departure dates slated for this route are May 7, May 21, June 11, June 25 and July 9. In addition, On April 23, 2022, Caribbean Princess will also sail a seven-day western Caribbean itinerary to Cozumel, Belize City, Roatan and Costa Maya in Mexico.
Pause in Princess Cruises extends into September 2021
Princess Cruises has extended its pause in operations well into 2021, citing the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) “Framework for Conditional Sailing Order” pertaining to resumption of U.S. cruise operations. So, the line cancelled all cruises sailing through March 31, 2021, and all cruises longer than seven days sailing in and out of United States ports through November 1, 2021. The line says it needs more time to prepare for completing the CDC’s required activities prior to sailing while also taking into consideration the temporary seven-day cap on itineraries that call at a U.S. port.

Whilst Belize only became a cruise destination in 1991, it has become a relatively popular stop in recent years.
