Belize Is Perfect for a Quiet, Romantic Honeymoon

Some people want a honeymoon that’s filled with excitement and thrills. If your taste runs more toward spending quiet, romantic time together, consider spending your honeymoon in Belize.

Let the Sounds of Nature Surround You

Are you stressed out by the constant noise in your life? In Belize, the only sounds you’ll hear are singing birds, ocean breezes, low-key conversations and the rush of cascading waterfalls. Far from crowds, traffic and stress, you’ll find it easy to get closer to each other. However, don’t get us wrong. If you ever feel like partying, Belize is known for that too. Our beach bars and clubs are lively places where you can enjoy tropical cocktails and live music. We also have joyful, colorful festivals where good music and delicious food are part of the scene. For the most part, however, you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet of nature as it surrounds you.

Get Blissful on the Beach

You can find gorgeous beaches all over Belize. Spend a day on the popular, tourist-friendly Ambergris Caye, or head to smaller, quieter Caye Caulker. Tour the miles of beachfront and quirky villages of the Placencia Peninsula in Southern Belize. Visit our stunning offshore islands with their spotless sand and shady palm trees. Anywhere you go, you’ll find quiet, unspoiled stretches of beach where you can stroll, sunbathe, relax or swim.

If you want a little more action, indulge in some of the best snorkeling, scuba diving or kayaking in the world. The clear blue waters surrounding the Belize Barrier Reef are constantly filled with amazing sea life including fish, coral, sea turtles, whale sharks, manatees, and stingrays. There are many ways to enjoy the water here, and they’re all romantic. Take a romantic evening cruise on the ocean or on one of our many scenic and meandering rivers. Spend a day hiking through a national park to a jungle waterfall and then cool off with a swim together.

Say “Aww” to Animals

If watching birds or animals warms your hearts, you’re in the right place. Five different species of big cats are native to Belize, and we’re home to the world’s first jaguar preserve at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary’s scenic, well-marked paths are ideal for strolling along together. Take a romantic boat ride to the community-run howler monkey sanctuary at Monkey River Town. Spot toucans, hummingbirds, macaws and other birds all over Belize.

Belize is more than just beaches, and you can spend your honeymoon making new discoveries about our fascinating country. Have lunch at an exotic spice farm where the scents of flowers, fruits, and spices fill the air. Learn how we grow and process bananas or Maya chocolate. Discover the Maya and Garifuna cultures with their unique customs, cuisine, and history. Visit the long-standing Amish community. Your explorations will take you through small villages that are the most authentic parts of Belize. Stay at a jungle lodge where the sights and sounds of the untouched rainforest surround you. It’s a wonderful experience that will make your honeymoon unforgettable.
