Visit the Altun Ha Maya Site

Located just 25 minutes north of Belize City, the ancient Maya Ruin is home to the Jade Head, the largest piece of jade found throughout Maya communities in Central America. The climb is easy to moderate, but the view is worth it once you get to the top. The site is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5 PM and entry is $5 US for visitors.

The biggest little zoo as its affectionately called by locals, The Belize Zoo is located about 45 minutes West of Belize City and takes about 2-3 hours to explore the entire zoo. All wildlife housed at the Belize Zoo are native to the region. Tapirs, toucans, boa constrictors, harpy eagles, jaguars and howler monkeys are just a few of the many animals that call the Zoo their home. The zoo is open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and entry is $15 US for adults and $5 US for children.
Cave Tubing

Ready to cool off and relax while floating down a cave system in Belize? Cave Tubing can be done from a number of locations in Western Belize, with no location more than 50 minutes outside of Belize City. Be sure to bring an extra pair of dry clothes because you will get wet!
A Historical Walk around the Museum of Belize, Baron Bliss Lighthouse and Memorial Park

For these two stops, you don’t even have to leave the city and depending on where you are staying it might even be within walking distance. The Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina gives you a very short walking access to both the Baron Bliss Lighthouse and Memorial Park.
