Belize is a one of a kind destination that gives you the best of both worlds – lush jungles and sandy beaches. There are many different ecosystems and species of animals found here in this small country. Wherever you visit in Belize, you are sure to find something that you enjoy. Whether you’re here for an adventure or just to relax; you can accomplish either at the beach or in the jungle.

Inland vs. Marine

To be quite honest, there is no competition between these two. Each of them has their own unique qualities as to what they offer to an individual. But others might beg to differ as they would like one more than the next. Being in Belize gives you an opportunity to explore this amazing country; you might be surprised at the things you end up enjoying.

Inland Activities

All of Belize’s jungle lodges and activities are found in Western and Southern Belize. Hidden Valley Inn, Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge, Bocawina Rainforest Resort, and Copal Tree Lodge are only a few of the jungle lodges in Belize. Jungle activities include but are not limited to zip-lining, cave tubing, waterfall rappelling, horseback riding, night time safaris, birding, and Maya ruins.

Marine Activities

Belize hosts a number of gorgeous beaches, namely: Ray Caye, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, Placencia, and Hopkins. Ray Caye is a private island resort for those who want to be away from everything and can be accessed by boat. Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker can be accessed by boat and flights through Maya Island Air. Placencia and Hopkins are both culturally unique and friendly beachside villages which can be accessed by driving, boat, or flying. Some of the accommodations at these destinations include Sunbreeze Hotel and Suites, Barefoot Beach Resort, Umaya Resort, Hopkins Bay Resort, and Turtle Inn. Marine activities can be booked through your chosen hotel or local tour companies. These activities include snorkeling the barrier reef, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, and kayaking.

As you can see, there is so much adventure and fun in both a jungle and beach destination. But if you’re not looking for an adventure but more relaxation; then the previously named jungle lodges and beach resorts offer unique, rejuvenating, and holistic spa packages. Certain spa packages can be custom made just for you. As well, many of these places have great yoga spaces and instructors to help you achieve your ultimate relaxation.
