“Had one of the most magical moments of my life—literally, the dolphins swam with us for 30 minutes straight; right after, we dove in and we swam with turtles and sharks.” Un-Belize-able. It’s the token term we’ve all heard countless times before in the industry, but it never fails to ring true. Popular travel media brand Passport Heavy—a visual, content-heavy team creating travel documentaries for the true essence of a destination—is not only in Belize, but they’ve even extended their visit! In a video update shared on their Instagram on March 29, CEO & founder Jubril Agoro says, “Belize, we missed our flight! But on purpose because of what we’ve been feeling in your amazing country.” Within the video, Jubril and his team can be seen experiencing the best of Southern Belize with Splash Dive Center.
Princess Tiana Goes Fishing!
When you’ve been traveling for the last 12 years like Jubril, you’ll know a thing or two about what really makes a trip unforgettable. In a quick recap of the last few days, he attributes that to, “…a combination of appreciating the nation’s deep and proud history, incredible culinary experiences that are deeply connected to the country’s history, and a warm welcoming society of people.”
One stand-out moment that the Passport Heavy team can’t stop raving about? The pod of dolphins that kept their company for 30 minutes in Southern Belize! Riding along on their very own Princess Taia, the Splash Dive Center team brags ‘gone fishing’ to catch fresh fish, cook it onshore on a private island, and of course, snorkel.
Within the video, the likes of both Moho Caye and Silk Caye can be seen.
“[Belize] is also home to some of the bluest of waters, world-class dense jungles, and many natural landmarks like the world’s largest LIVING barrier reef (since the deterioration of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef). It’s a scuba [diver]’s and snorkeler’s dream!”

We’ll agree wholeheartedly with Jubril’s sentiments: It’s certainly a place worth investing time and resources in, which will come back 10-fold. Indeed, Belize’s potential is undeniable.

“To put it into context, it reminds me a lot of Bali 10 years ago when I first started traveling there,” Jubril continues, “[Belize] might just become my Caribbean/Central American hub.” Belize is rife with stunning seascapes to serve as a background in such a monumental moment, best experienced with a local operator like Splash Dive Center. It’s no wonder Jubril claims “it’s something unexplainable.”

“And yo, your hot sauce is good, but it almost took the boy out!”
Sneak peeks of the team the travel brand’s destination guide will include rooftop drinks and live music by Belizean artist JCas at Alaia Belize, a helicopter flyover of the Great Blue Hole, the opulent Solvei villa at Naia Resort & Spa, and live Garifuna drummers.
From the Caribbean Culture and Lifestyle team, we welcome Passport Heavy with excitement. We can’t wait to see more of their adventures! Keep up with Passport Heavy and their Belize coverage on YouTube and Instagram. Who knows? Maybe they’ll be back in the south of Belize for more marine adventures with Splash Dive Center.
