Any time of the year to visit Belize is the perfect time! But coming here for summer vacation is an exceptional idea. There is so much for you to do in this magnificent country; whether it’s participating in activities on the mainland, visiting the islands, or attending summer events. The list goes on and on, so to ease your mind, these are a few things you can do in Belize this summer.

Why visit during the summer?

  • Many of the airlines offer non-stop flights to Belize all summer from the US or Canada. Normally they are very affordable at this time of year due to the heavy competition between the airlines.
  • You can also take advantage of the discounts, as most of the resorts and tour companies in Belize offer huge discounts on rooms and tours at this time.
  • The weather is also amazing during this time, making it perfect for you to go swimming, sailing, hiking, or just relaxing on the beach or near a pool.

Things to do

1. Lobster Fest

A festival held in June and July to celebrate the opening of Belize’s lobster season. If you enjoy fishing or just enjoy eating seafood, this is the best time to come as there’s lobster cooked in a variety of ways for you to try. This festival is held during three different weekends at Caye Caulker, Ambergris Caye, and Placencia. Check out our Lobster Fest blog to see the dates.

2. Costa Maya Int’l Festival

One of the biggest festival weekends in the country that so many Belizeans and others from Central America look forward to. The purpose of this is to showcase the modern Mayan culture; and is normally held the first weekend of August in Ambergris Caye. The event is from July 31 to August 1. Noche San Pedrana is July 25th.

3. Check out the nightlife

The small partying starts from Tuesday and gradually increases throughout the week up until Saturday. Whether you’re in the city or another district, there is always an event that you can hang out and enjoy.

4. Water Activities

Due to the great weather, you can experience all the amazing water activities. From snorkelling in the barrier reef to catch and release fishing or just sailing the beautiful Caribbean Sea and watching the sunset with friends.

5. Jungle Activities

Zip lining, cave tubing, and hiking through the Belize jungle is a traveller favourite. You get to see the abundant wildlife living here and all the beautiful tropical flowers. A new and exciting jungle activity is waterfall rappelling down South, so if you love the adrenaline rush this is definitely for you.
