At just 8,869 square miles of total land mass, Belize is a surprising behemoth in the world of conservation. So much so, in fact, that it has earned itself a spotlight feature in a four-part documentary. “Unknown Belize” by The European Nature Trust (TENT) premieres in the UK on June 7th at the Royal Geographical Society.

The four part documentary, shot and produced by Belizeans, tells a truly remarkable tale, and 100% of ticket proceeds will go to the protection and promotion of Belize’s environmental wealth.

About Belize’s Biodiversity

Home to 145 species of mammals, 100 species of coral, over 500 species of fish, more than 1100 species of trees, and much much more, Belize is overflowing with biodiversity. And from the historic blue bond agreement to the establishment of the world’s first and only jaguar preserve, the country is also a shining example of tireless conservation efforts. Whether you find yourself in the thick of the jungle or under the warm sunlight out at sea, you’re bound to encounter the fruits of those tireless efforts.

In a world grappling with the effects of climate change and other manmade destruction, however, those efforts may all be in vain. This is a sobering truth that Unknown Belize makes sure to drive home.
