What You Can Win for APAMO’s 13th Anniversary Contest
1st Prize: Two nights at La Milpa Lodge for 2 with Programme for Belize
Stay two-nights in a private cabin at La Milpa Lodge, courtesy of Programme for Belize. Here, enjoy meals and an on-site guided tour for two persons in Rio Brave Conservation & Management Area, known for the third largest archaeological site in Belize. If you’re looking for true, wild tropical rainforest, this is it. Encompassing 406 sq miles in northwest Belize, the Río Bravo Conservation & Management Area (RBCMA) takes up 4% of Belize’s total land area and is managed by the Belizean non-profit organization Programme for Belize (PFB). Not to mention, La Milpa Lodge harbors astonishing biological diversity. Inside, find 346 bird species (nearly two-thirds of Belize’s total) and all five of Belize’s cats (jaguar, puma, ocelot, jaguarundi and margay).
2nd Prize: One night at Ian Anderson Caves Branch for 2
Stay one night at Ian Anderson Caves Branch, courtesy of the jungle lodge, and enjoy breakfast & dinner for two persons! Hidden away in dense jungle off the Hummingbird Highway, Ian Anderson’s is a 90-sq-mile private estate that acts as a base for a variety of exclusive jungle activities on the property. Besides adventure, on property attractions include a 15 acre botanical garden which showcases hundreds of natural plant species, to an extraordinary Cheese House that lies hidden under the rainforest canopy.
3rd Prize: One night at Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary for 2
Co-managed by the Belize Audubon Society, the 128,000 acres of Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary offers pristine beauty and Robinson Crusoe-like adventure in Southern Belize! Wake with the sun and head out on an early hike to any one of the three waterfalls, where oversized ferns and vines line the 118 combined kilometers of jungle trails. However, keep your eyes peeled for the pig-like peccaries, hundreds of bird species, and all five species of Belize’s wildcats found inside. Not to mention, you’re in the world’s first jaguar preserve. You might get lucky!
