Lobster Season kicks off with a Bang!
In Belize, the month of June is all about one of the nicest and most coveted seafood: The Lobster. The scrumptious delicacy is celebrated all months long at the Lobster Fest. The fest kicked off on the beautiful La Isla Bonita. San Pedro but it was not on San Pedro for just a weekend it was there for the whole week!
Three Festivals, Three Locations, Three Times The Fun!
Lobster Fest in San Pedro started on Friday the 15th of June and ended on the 22nd of June. Each day had a different event slated at San Pedro’s best restaurants. There was lobster galore. Chefs used their finest recipes to make the most scrumptious crustacean cuisine! The fest was even home to a pageant where pageant queens took the stage and battled it out for the winning crow. DJs and artists performed some of there best songs while everyone danced the night away with a delicious drink in hand.
The fest then moved down south to the serene Placanica Penisula from the 22nd of June to the 24th of June. As usual Placencia’s fest was a success! Tourists and locals piled on to the beach filled with chefs cooking up a lobster storm! BBQ lobster, lobster kebabs, lobster ceviche just to name a few.
The fest also had an array of fun activities. Fishing fanatics participated in a small fishing tournament on Saturday where all types of different fish were caught by the skilled fishers. A live marching band played sweet music on their instruments while high flying tumblers performed some impressive tricks. All kinds of different artworks were on display to see and buy and just like lobster, the drinks were unlimited!
