Belize will launch several new resorts in 2021, including new luxury and branded properties. In a year of unparalleled hardships for the travel industry, brands push on with plans to open highly anticipated new hotels. Albeit, with many rescheduling from 2020 debuts to 2021. Amongst those resorts opening in 2021 are four in Ambergris Caye, which was voted as the 4th best island in Central America by Condé Nast. After all, the small but perfectly formed Caribbean country of Belize blends beaches, cultural history, and eco-adventure all into one experiential tourism product. Below, find highlights of the five new luxury resorts slated to debut in Belize, with a spotlight on Alaia Belize and Wyndham Grand Belize as the first on the schedule for Spring 2021.

Alaia Resort, Autograph Collection – Ambergris Caye

The Alaia Resort, Autograph Collection will open in March 2021 on Ambergris Caye as Belize’s first Marriott-branded property. The boutique beachfront resort will feature 35 standard hotel rooms, 56 two-bedroom rooms and 8 oceanfront villas. Not to mention, a spa and fitness center, rooftop pool, multiple restaurants and a beach club. Indeed, priding itself as the newest waterfront resort in San Pedro, the spectacular property covers 20 acres on Ambergris Caye. Owners can choose between private two-bedroom residences and three-bedroom oceanfront villas ranging from $349,000 to $1.3 million.

First launching in 2017, Alaia Belize enters final stages of construction as the first development of its kind in Ambergris Caye. Due to constructions delays from a national lockdown, Alaia Belize has decided to push their opening debut for early 2021. However, construction is slated to be completed by December 2020. At Alaia Belize, you can expect hospitality, intimacy, and the personality of the island. Moreover, the eco-luxury hotel integrates Belize’s natural materials with 70% of fabrics and raw materials locally sourced. Award-winning Brazilian interior designer Debora Aguiar focuses on the various textures of fibers, stones, woods, fabrics; or reuse of stones, woods and coatings in general. Amenities, like its full-service spa and suspended rooftop lounge, are designed to stimulate the five sense. “From the reception to the lobby. From the apartment to the circulations, and from the beach bar to the spa,” Aguiar adds.

Wyndham Grand Belize – Ambergris Caye

Being the first of its kind for the brand in Belize, the Wyndham Grand Belize offers investors 5-star luxury living opportunities in Belize. Each luxury condominium is individually-owned, with the entire Belize resort managed by Wyndham Grand on behalf of each investor. The one- to three-bedroom condos are booked through the Wyndham reservation system, luring guests from a roster of more than 75 million members, taking advantage of one of the largest rewards programs in the world.

Inspired by the unique waterways of Venice, the one-of-a-kind luxury resort is found on 330 feet of beachfront property. Just 3.5 miles north of San Pedro, the Wyndham Grand Belize developed by Venezia Developments will also host the Caribbean’s largest pool. However, that is in addition to a gondola boat service, spa, three restaurants, a dive center, and shops at a village center.

Margaritaville Resort Belize – Ambergris Caye

Scheduled to open in mid-2021, the Margaritaville Resort Belize will be the brand’s first Belize property, located on Ambergris Caye. The property’s 71 condo-style residences will be complemented by a beach sports center, two pools, and famous Margaritaville eateries. Plus, a 400-ft private pier.

Belize Marriott Ambergris Caye Resort & Residences – Ambergris Caye

The Belize Marriott Ambergris Caye Resort & Residences will open in December of 2021 as a 203-room oceanfront resort within walking distance of the resort town of San Pedro.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences – Caye Chapel

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Caye Chapel is aiming for a 2021 launch date, as reported by Travel Pulse. Although construction has not started, the 280-acre private island is slated to be Four Seasons’ first Belize resort. Additionally, the resort is currently designed with 50 private estates, 35 residences and 100 guest rooms and suites. Blue prints also feature an 18-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course and conservation institute founded by explorer Fabien Cousteau.
