As promised, England continues to ease its restrictions on tourism, announcing that starting July 19, those who have completed the vaccination through doses administered by the National Health Service of the United Kingdom and who come from countries under the Amber category will be able to enter English territory without the need for quarantine. At present, Belize is amongst a handful of Caribbean countries currently listed within the Amber category.

It is often forgotten that Britain also dipped its colonial toes into Central America. Belize, once known as British Honduras, is found at the base of the Yucatan Peninsula, hugged between Mexico and Guatemala. And as Belize celebrated thirty-nine years of Independence last September, it still is, and remains a less-heralded segment of the region to Europeans and Britons alike. Roughly the size of Wales, Belize blends eco-adventures alongside its UNESCO-attested Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System and a near-blindingly bright shoreline of the Caribbean Sea. As restrictions ease, here’s how Britons can safely enjoy the Caribbean nation of Belize with no quarantine on arrival and now, none on return.
Waived quarantine measures in the UK is an important lifeline for the tourism sectors of the 145 Amber countries, notably Spain, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands and Russia in Europe, and in America to the countries and territories of Aruba, Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Curaçao, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and the United States.
Belize’s Entry Requirements for the Fully Vaccinated
To visit Belize, fully vaccinated travelers are not required to provide proof of their negative COVID-19 PCR test. But those travelers that have not been vaccinated need to present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result which is to be taken within 96 hours of travel or a negative antigen test result presented within 48 hours of trip to the island. The UK government updates the status of each country every three weeks. The last time was June 30.
British holidaymakers who have not completed the COVID vaccination schedule should continue to quarantine for 10 days and take the test prior to travel, as well as on the second and eighth day of arrival.
