The Caribbean’s Largest Tourism Marketing Event

by McNab Editorial Team July 5, 2019
The Caribbean’s Largest Tourism Marketing Event

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA)

For more than 50 years the CHTA has represented the interests of national hotel and tourism associations. They are known as the backbone of the Caribbean hospitality industry. With some 1,000 hotel and allied members, and 32 National Hotel Associations, they shape the Caribbean’s future by helping members to grow their businesses. One of the efforts of the CHTA is to fill hotel rooms and also increase visitor expenditures. According to CHTA CEO, Frank Comito, an additional 10% in visitor expenditures would generate $628 million more in room revenue each year, plus two-thirds of added spend per visitor on food and beverage, attractions, taxis and ground transportation, retail purchases and local services.”

The Caribbean Travel Marketplace

“If you’re looking for a business opportunity to expand and grow in the region you should attend Caribbean Travel Marketplace.”

On January 29th to 31st, 2019, Montego Bay will be filled with tourism stakeholders from all over the region. The 37th edition of The Caribbean Travel Marketplace attracts hotel and destination representatives from high-level executives to key decision-makers. Moreover, there will be wholesalers and tour operators; online travel agencies; Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) planners; and members of the media. Further, the Marketplace event will include a chance to hold business meetings, and a program of thousands of pre-scheduled appointments to expand your business. Online registration for CHTA’s annual signature event is open. If you are in the tourism industry this is an event you should not miss. In brief, this year’s sponsors include interval International, JetBlue Vacations and MasterCard, just to name a few.

The Rhythm Never Stops

The CHTA and its regional partner the Caribbean Tourism Organization recently launched “The Rhythm Never Stops”. The marketing campaign highlights the Caribbean’s diverse cultures, vibrancies, unmatched natural beauty, and countless attractions and activities all complemented by the incredible hospitality of its people. The idea is thus simple, the more people that discover the diversity of the Caribbean the more it will grow as a vacation destination.
