Belize Tourism Statistics 2019 (1st Quarter)

Tourists are saying Hi! in High season!

The months of December through May are considered “high season” in Belize. This is when tourism arrivals are at its peak.

Overnight Visitors

The Belize Tourism Board reports for the first quarter of 2019, Belize’s tourism records exceeded expectations reaching a record-breaking 57,909 in overnight visitors for the month of March.

In fact, this is a whopping 6% increase in overnight arrivals in comparison to the first quarter in 2018.

Although this comes as a pleasant surprise, it isn’t without merit. The month of March notably takes pride in being a month of perfect weather with temperatures soaring between 83°F (28°C) during the day and average 74°F (23°C) at night.

With Belize’s sub-tropical climate, beautiful marine treasures, rich culture, and magnificent archeological heritage, Belize is becoming a sough-after location.

Visitors from Cruise Ships to Belize

Cruise ship arrivals for the first quarter of 2019 have also seen a boost, with 10.8% more visitors, as compared to 2018. 150 cruise ships came to port with roughly 700,000 passengers disembarking and discovering Belize.
