by Carolee Chanona

With ultra-luxury design elements often found in private yachts, the Seabourn Ovation made its maiden call to Belize on February 16, 2022. It’s a new cruise ship under the Seabourn Cruise Line, which hosted representatives from the Belize Tourism Board, the ship’s local port agent APEX Shipping Agency Limited, Belize Port Authority, and the Fort Street Tourism Village for a maiden call ceremony on board that very morning.

Arriving with 417 passengers, the Seabourn Ovation’s passengers typically hail from North America, the U.K., and Australia, though you’ll likely also see travelers from other European countries.

The 600-passenger ship is the second in the luxury line’s newest ship class, which started with Seabourn Encore in 2016. Cruise fans are said to clamor for the brand’s ultra-pampering service and top-notch dining in a laid-back, country club-style environment.

More about the Seabourn Ovation

The Seabourn Ovation is the sister-ship to the already prestigious Seabourn Encore, as another welcome stage in the evolution of small-ship cruising since its addition to the fleet in Spring 2018. At 690 feet long and 92 feet wide, the Seabourn Ovation hosts 300 suites for a maximum capacity of 600 guests. With at least one staff member per guest, the Seabourn Cruise Line offers one of the highest space per guest ratios in the industry; all suites include a Personal Suite Host and Suite Attendant.

Additionally, Seabourn Ovation’s suites are all ocean-front with details typically not offered in the industry, like marble bathrooms with double vanities, walk-in closets, living areas with a sofa and dining table, and 100% verandas. The Seabourn Cruise Line is an all-inclusive experience.

With its maiden call to Belize, Seabourn Ovation docks in Belize City which boasts an array of historic attractions; St. John’s Cathedral, the Swing Bridge, Government House Museum, and the colorful fruit market can all be seen on a Belize City tour.
