American Air Tests App for Expedited Test Screening for Travel to Jamaica

This month, American Airlines will begin offering travelers to Jamaica access to a mobile app that verifies they have met testing and documentation requirements for travel, giving them expedited airport processing. The carrier is partnering with biometrics and identity assurance company Daon to provide its VeriFly app for travelers flying from Miami (MIA) to both Montego Bay and Kingston. Prior to their trip, travelers can create a profile and confirm their flight information, that they have a negative COVID-19 test and any other required documentation for travel. The app gives them a “pass” message if they meet all requirements, which will give them access to an expedited entry lane for testing verification in Miami.

Additionally, American Airlines  is working with other countries to enable VeriFly expedited screening at arrival airports and expects to expand the program in the coming weeks and months, according to the carrier. One can only hope Belize can be next.
