The Banks: You Can Now Book Your Stay at This Luxurious Belize Resort

by Khaila Gentle

The newest resort by the Belize Collection is finally officially open—and you can now book your luxurious stay for 2025. The Banks is a riverfront resort that fuses the tranquility of nature with the modern comforts that this eclectic collection of Belize resorts has become known for. Here’s what’s in store for you at this one-of-a-kind hideaway.

Nature, Art, and All Things Contemporary Chic

Though it’s situated on the property of the Rainforest Lodge at Sleeping Giant, the Banks is it’s own unique and charming experience. Set in the Sibun River Valley, the resort is hidden away inside some 10,000 acres of lush greenery. Though boasting its own draws, like a larger-than-life art installation—“Ah Puka’an Garrobo” or “Iguana Below the Ground”—by Diego Haretche and the innovative Humo Restaurant, The Banks also offers guests the chance to enjoy the amenities of Sleeping Giant Lodge, found just a mile away.

Whether traveling as a couple, a family, or a group of friends, guests of The Banks are in for a treat. One-, Two-, and Three-Bedroom villas all come with the promise of a stay that’s as private as it is chic. In fact, there are only 14 villas total on the property. Each boasts its own private pool, plus a living room and a full kitchen. And for those not too keen on cooking, Humo Restaurant promises an unforgettable experience.

Flavor From the Fire at Humo Restaurant

Humo Restaurant and Bar at The Banks offers a taste of something different. The newly opened eatery focuses on dishes centered around aged meat and traditional smoking techniques. From sunup to sundown, diners can enjoy a chef-driven spin on traditional fire hearth flavors. Meanwhile, Humo Bar sits overlooking the Sibun River, with a diverse menu of specially curated coffees and cocktails inspired by the region.
