Bird Watching in Mountain Pine Ridge

Cayo is also one of Belize’s leading birding destinations. Sightings include the King Vulture, Keel-Billed Toucan, Lesson’s Motmot, Hepatic Tanager, Stygian Owl and much more. Moving further inland to the Mountain Pine Ridge, you can spot Orange-breasted Falcon amongst others. After all, Belize is home to nearly 600 bird species (both migratory and resident) as well as six Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs).
