Welcome Back, WestJet! Direct Service between Belize and Canada Resumes Today

After the suspension of service in March 2020, WestJet marks its return to Belize with non-stop service as of November 3, 2021. With today’s arrival from Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada is expected to maintain its status as the third-largest tourism source market for Belize after the United States and Europe. WestJet tickets with non-stop service to Belize are now available for purchase online, with direct flights available every Wednesday and Saturday from Calgary (YYC) at 6 hours 20 minutes and Toronto (YYZ) at 4 hours 46 minutes. WestJet’s seasonal winter schedule is slated to run from November 3, 2021, through to April 30, 2022.

WestJet’s return to Belize will allow Canadians to enjoy Belize’s tropical weather, the warm hospitality of Belizeans, the myriad attractions, culture, and cuisine that Belize offers as a premier destination in Central America. Canada continues to maintain its status as the third-largest tourism source market to Belize after the United States and Europe.

Flying from Belize to Canada

All travelers can enter Canada for non-essential (leisurely) travel, once they qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler regardless of citizenship. Canada’s current entry requirements are:

  • have received at least 2 doses of a Government of Canada-accepted COVID-19 vaccine, with the second dose at least 14 full days prior to the day you enter Canada
  • upload your proof of vaccination in ArriveCAN, their travel app
  • bring along your negative PCR test result. A rapid antigen test will not be accepted
  • have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19
