What’s Happening in Belize in January

by Khaila Gentle

After ringing in the New Year, many might be led to believe that there isn’t much to do in Belize in the month of January. But that’s not quite the case. With at least one long weekend (the country celebrates George Price Day on January 15th), there’s plenty of fun to be had. Here, we’ve rounded up a quick and helpful list of what’s happening in Belize this month, starting with the upcoming weekend.

Saturday, January 14 – Unplugged at Cork Street

Cork Street Whiskey Bar in Belize City recently launched Unplugged. It’s an ongoing series of events that feature local artists like this week’s performers, Denise Castillo and Alexander Evans. Enjoy the musical stylings of Belize’s talented artists while sipping some Flor de Caña rum. But be sure to make a reservation sooner rather than later. Tables go fast!

Head out to Estel’s Dine by the Sea in San Pedro later this month for dinner and a show. Starting at 6PM, patrons can find themselves treated to the musical stylings of the Bamboo Chicken Band. This dinner and show is a part of the band’s ongoing third annual music festival. They’ll also be playing at The Beach Bar & Grill on Sunday, January 29th. And then, on Tuesday, January 31st, they’ll be back at Estel’s for some BBQ and Blues.
