In a statement released by The Belize Tourism Board to its stakeholders on September 30th, Belize is expanding movement between the Gold Standard Hotels within Belize’s Safe Corridor. With this adjustment, guests can experience other Gold Standard restaurants while on vacation in Belize, allowing for movement between other Gold Standard Hotels.

Food embodies cultural identity and has proven to be a very important part of the travel experience. This adjustment will allow visitors to be able to partake in a more diverse offering of delicious Belizean cuisine within the Safe Corridor.

With October 1 marking the reopening of Belize’s international airport, the health and safety protocols for tourists continue to be reviewed to ensure that visitors will get to experience as much of Belize as possible. On this premise, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) provides the following update regarding Gold Standard Hotels and the movement of tourists while visiting Belize.

Belize’s Safe Corridor now includes cross-movement between Gold Standard Hotel restaurants

  • Provisions have been made to allow guests staying at Gold Standard hotels to visit other Gold Standard hotel restaurants for meals. It is recommended that guests seek the assistance of the Gold Standard hotel at which they are staying to make the necessary arrangements such as reservations and transportation.
  • Kindly note that only Gold Standard approved transport, such as hotel transfers or an approved Gold Standard tour operator, can transport guests from one property to the next.

Front desk and concierge services within your Gold Standard Accommodation will be able to make suggestions and reservations on guests’ behalf. This will ensure that all travelers continue to remain in compliance with Belize’s travel regulations since Covid-19. Belize’s Safe Corridors include all the approved accommodations throughout the country that have achieved Gold Standard Recognition. You can find a list of these accommodations and locations by clicking here.  For more Covid-19 Travel Updates, please visit our Travel Advisory Page here
