Belize Expands Airport's COVID-19 Testing For Departures
Travelers departing Belize will have access to expanded COVID-19 testing capacity inside its Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City. Not to mention, the resort hubs San Pedro, San Ignacio and Placencia among others, said Belize Tourism Board (BTB) officials. The expanded testing capacity follows the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)’s policy requiring passengers arriving in the U.S. to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test starting January 26. Regardless of nationality or purpose, all arriving passengers stateside must test negative within 72 hours of travel.
The Belize Tourism Board has announced that same-day testing will be available at Philip Goldson International Airport for any departing passengers. Please monitor their website for cost information and updates. If you are planning to test at the airport the same day as your departing flight to the USA, please arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before your scheduled departure. Testing inside the Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) is provided by Belize Medical Associates, which is a private hospital located in Belize City. More details, including cost per test, is expected to be provided soon by the Belize Tourism Board.
